"I lost everything I once knew–but hope never left me. Recovery is not just about healing; it's about reclaiming yourself."

My Story

My world changed overnight in 2019. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and an aneurysm. I had a stroke during surgery, and afterwards I couldn’t speak, walk, read, or even recognize time. But I refused to give up. Through sheer determination, intensive rehabilitation, the unwavering support of my family, and my stash of delectable Belgian chocolate, I fought my way back—one step, one word at a time.

It took me three years to reclaim the woman I once was.

My Journey Back to Me is the story of that battle—one of resilience, rediscovery, and courage.

I wrote this memoir to help people and their families who are confronted with a diagnosis of an acquired brain injury to show how a life-changing incident can inspire hope, healing, and comfort.

I hope my story can help you move through your own journey.
